The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the Executive Board for nine international Greek letter fraternities and sororities; they are often referred to as "The Divine Nine”. The Southern Illinois University NPHC has five of the nine organizations. 

NPHC organizations are committed to community service and supporting excellence between members and the general student body by providing activities and programs. In addition to providing a social outlet, NPHC organizations also provide a variety of initiatives designed to enrich the cultural experience of UA students.

Membership Intake

Each NPHC chapter has an independent and unique membership selection process. Each chapter will typically hold its own recruitment period. Each organization's recruitment events entail informational meetings and philanthropic and education sessions. Follow these tips for membership intake!

1. Research the organization you are interested in to ensure the organizations align with your values.

2. Join other clubs, organizations, and community service opportunities.

3. Attend the programs and events of the organizations you’re interested in and get to know its members.

4. Follow NPHC (@siu_nphc) on Instagram and individual chapter social media accounts to help you stay current on events and programs you can attend.

5. Attend the NPHC events or other informational meetings hosted throughout the fall and spring semesters.
