The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is the governing body for culturally-based fraternities and sororities at Southern Illinois University.
These organizations all strive to benefit the SIU community through philanthropy and community service, while celebrating the diverse identities of their members.
Membership Intake
Each MGC chapter has an independent and unique membership selection process. Each chapter will typically hold its own recruitment period. Each organization's recruitment events entail informational meetings and philanthropic and education sessions. Follow these tips for membership intake!
1. Research the organization you are interested in to ensure the organizations align with your values.
2. Join other clubs, organizations, and community service opportunities.
3. Attend the programs and events of the organizations you’re interested in and get to know its members.
4. Follow MGC (@siu_mgc) on Instagram and individual chapter social media accounts to help you stay current on events and programs you can attend.
5. Attend the MGC events or other informational meetings hosted throughout the fall and spring semesters.
