How to Join

Step 1. Check out what Fraternities and Sororities SIU offers.
To the left you can find the pages that list all of the fraternities and sororities that we offer. You may also want to check out our councils as well. We have culturally based and non-culturally based councils here.

Step 2. Visit their national or international websites.
Each fraternity and sorority has their own website. This is where you can learn about their values, philanthropies, and mission. As well as where and when they were founded and by who. It’ll also show their colors, symbols, and anything else that is unique and special to their organization. Learn as much as you can about the organization you are interested in. This way you can ask members of that chapter questions to find more information.

Step 3. Attend events on campus to get more information.
Each of our councils host their own week. This is when you as a potential new member (PNM) can attend events to learn more about the council and its respective chapters. Chapters or councils may also host informational meetings so PNM’s can learn more as well. Most organizations will be at the RSO Fair as another way to meet up with them.

If you have any questions you can always contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
