The College Panhellenic Association (CPA) is the governing council for the sororities that hold membership in the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) or are associate members of the local CPH). Currently, the CPH at SIU has active, undergraduate chapters for 5 sororities.
Each fall semester, the CPA coordinates a Formal Structured Recruitment (FSR) which is a mutual selection process that potential new members (PNMs) participate in to determine the sorority that is the best option for them. The four sororities that are members of the NPC (Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Phi Epsilon, Delta Zeta, and Sigma Kappa) participate in the formal recruitment process. The dates for formal recruitment for Fall 2016 are Wednesday, September 7 - Sunday, September 11. There will be several Pre-Recruitment events offered by CPA for PNMs to find out more information and see if sorority life is for them before committing to the formal process. Registration will open April 15, 2017.
Continuous Open Recruitment (COB) is a process in which chapters are able to fill available spots in their membership total when not in a formal recruitment period. For the four NPC sororities, this period begins after Bid Day of formal recruitment and chapters participate as they are able. Our Associate Member, Sigma Alpha, participates in COB year round.
